Our system will work out where the patient is in the medication review process and inform admin staff what the next steps should be. e.g.

- patient has annual review booked so OKs staff to issue another prescription.

- patient is a non-responder to invites, remind the patient to attend or risk restricted access to medication.

- medication review questionnaire completed and awaiting next step.

- methotrexate monitoring out of date so script length reduced to two weeks.

The Prescribing module will ensure that all necessary monitoring/measurements are up-to-date before arranging medication review.

Our medication review questionnaires can identify patients who need a consultation and those who are appropriate for a notes-based medication review.

Checks carried out at the point of prescribing will highlight potential issues with the prescription choice. Examples of this include, skipping steps on the opiate ladder, nitrofurantoin and low eGFR, teratogenic drugs in pregnancy, DOACs when warfarin on repeat.

Our prescribing module will identify QOF prescribing work as part of annual medication review processes, ensuring that the work is distributed evenly across the year, without relying on QOF alerts, which can be unreliable.
